How is Life

This is an anecdote of the first question I putforth to many people ,when I meet them
"How is life ?"
The answers I get from my colleagues, friends and peers mesmerises me to say the least. Some of the answers that spurts from them are..
"Fine"
"Feeling on top of the world"
"Yeah,OK"
"Doing good"
"Rocking all the way"
"Moving and rollicking"
"Jinga lala"
"Awesome" "Great" "Great" "Going ON"
"As usual"
"Busy"
"Fast forward"
"Majaa Mei"
"Aatisundar"
"Hectic and pacy"
"Laajawaab"
"Full of fun"
"BINDAAS"
"Superb"
"Good buddy"
"Lovely"
"Terrible"
"Picnic"
"Kuchee kuchee koo"
"Roobi Doobi Du"
"Marvellous"
"Crazy"
"Gifted"
"dramatic"
"Full of masala"
"Life is fantastic " (Usually my answer)
There are other innumerable adjectives which could be quoted, though I have not missed many...

The most perplexed answer I have received was from one of my dear friend which went like this(raising both his hands in astonishment)

----> "Haq,WHAT A LIFE " !!

Exemplary food unlimited

In life we cherish good food to the tee...an interesting subject to pen down some thoughts..
The day we are born,we relish having food in various forms...mother's milk, all the packaged milk foods, water, kanji(water from boiled or steam rice) etc..
As we reach our 2nd or 3rd year,we start having solid foods in the form of garnished rice and wheat, fruits, fruit juices and the first taste of sugar and spice. We also start having those energy drinks from the 4th year onwards.

I remember being fed on "farex" and biscuits to the tee.As you age these were replaced by "complan " and bournvita.
The right mixture ofcarbohydrates ,proteins and vitamins for nourishment is vital and ingredients were aplenty those days.
The age when we start having solid food is the most noticeable and high on rememberence.
The usual food in variuos forms (breakfast ,lunch and dinner) would comprise of Idli,Dosa,Vada,Roti, poori, cornflakes ,Iddiappam,Puttu(kerala dishes),Mutta Dosa (dosa with egg garnished),rice with sambhar, gravies, mutton ,chicken, fish curries, dal sabzis, and the list is unfinished...
As we enter the teenage years, the food also becomes upmarket.Fast food and junk takes over
with all those Chats and Manchurians to satisfy our bellies. Not to forget all those cola drinks as sidekicks.

Grab those wonderful (painful) bakery items with sweets thrown in,and you have the perfect appetite, never to be relinquished.

Typical Indian hospitality also comes to the forte. The festival seasons brings about the most exotic food on display, not to forget the marriages and gruhapraveshams.Every 5th km brings about a change in cuisines, not to forget the various places and states speciality.
The beauty of this country is that ,you get the simple "tea" and coffee in its various avatars (facets)...from Rs 3/- to Rs 300/-
The lingo used to address various food items also changes from place to place..."chaya chaya" to "chay garam ,chay garam" ; "kappi" to "coffee" to "cappucino"
We have 100 varieties of different mutton and chicken menus and people experiment with these menus ,as a scientist does with his chemicals...
The varieties are mind boggling and to count the menus from Jammu to Kanyakumari, will take ages...
Perfect recipies for tourists and world alike..the influx of multinational cuisines is adding spice to the mouthwatering taste buds of our society. The drinks have become hotter (daring),food exotic and sumptuous.
The GenNext is taking to fast food off the shelf in a jiffy..and ovens (packaged foods ) have become the order of the day...gone are the days of traditional cooking..
All this with the ever changing times shows some promise at large..

Spirituality

For me ,spirituality is trust in God and inherent faith in the goodness of people.
I always remember that you live only once, and though it's very good to be important, I think it's
important to be good.
'The power that is within you is the only thing that matters .If your willpower is strong, you can get whatever you want'
' Spirituality is the essence of life.It is the connection with the soul.It helps us discriminate between the right and the wrong.I believe we are not human beings seeking spiritual experience, but spiritual beings seeking a human experience.'

Mission

We all come into this world with a specific purpose..each one of us is given a destiny to fulfil and...a chance to make a difference in the world we live.

In the years to come ahead , may we make use of our unique talents ...wish our own special ways of doing things, wishing that we find joy, beauty and contentment in everything we do...

Let us make a difference !!

Echo of life

A man and his son were walking in the forest.

Suddenly the boy trips and feeling a sharp pain he screams “Ahhhhhhhhh”.

Surprised he hears a voice coming from the mountain, “Ahhhhhhhhh”…!

Filled with curiosity, he screams: “Who are you?”, but the only answer he receives is “who are you?”

This makes him angry, so he screams: “You are a coward!”, and the voice answers “You are a coward!”

He looks at his father, asking, “Dad, what is going on?”

“Son, “ the man replies, “pay attention!” then he screams, “I admire you!”.

The voice answers “I admire you”.

The father shouts, “You are wonderful!”, and the voice answers: “You are wonderful!”

Then the father explains, “People call this ‘ECHO’, but truly it is ‘LIFE’!

Life always gives you back what you give out!

Life is a mirror of your actions.

If you want more love, give more love!

If you want understanding, give understanding and respect.

If you want people to be patient and respectful to you, give patience and respect!

This rule of nature applies to every aspect of our lives.”

Life always gives you back what you give out.

Your life is not a coincidence, but a mirror of your own doings.

A love story

Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived, Happiness, Sadness,
Knowledge and all the others, including Love.

One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to
the bottom of the ocean.

So, all the feelings prepared their boats to leave.

Love was the only one that stayed.

She wanted to preserve the island paradise until the very last possible moment.

When the island was almost totally under water, Love decided it was time to leave.

She began looking for someone to ask for help.

Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat.

Love asked, “Richness, can I come with you on your boat?”

Richness answered, “I am sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat
and there would be no room for you anywhere”

The Love decided to ask Vanity, who was passing in a beautiful vessel, for help.

Love cried out “Vanity, help me please!”,

“I can’t help you, “ Vanity said, “You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat.”

Next Love saw Sadness passing by.

Love said, “Sadness please let me go with you.”

Sadness answered, “Love, I’m sorry, but, I just need to be alone now.”

Then, Love saw Happiness and cried out, “Happiness, please take me with you.”

But Happiness was so overjoyed that he didn’t hear Love calling him.

Love began to cry, then, she heard a voice say, “Come love I will take you with me”.

It was an elder.

Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name.

When they arrived on land the elder went on his way.

Love realized how much she owed the elder and when she met Knowledge she asked who it was that had helped her.

“It was Time”, Knowledge answered. “But why did Time help me when no one else would?”,
Love asked.

Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity, answered, “Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is.”

Ghar ( in Hindi )

Wonderful poem penned by Ashok Chakradar

Darwaazo se na deewaro se..
Ghar bantha hai gharwalo se..
Achha koi makaan banayega..
paisa bhi khoob lagayega..
par agar rahne ko nahi aayega..
ghar uska bhar jayega..
makadiyo ke jhhaalo se.....

Ghar mein jabh koi na hota hai..
Dadhi hai aur na potha hai..
galath naina hota hai..
bheetar hi bheetar rota hai..
Ghar hasta hai Bhaal Gopalo se..
Na Darwaazo se na Deewaro se..

Aur rahe bhi magar ladayi ho..
Bhai ka dushman bhai ho..
Nandi se tanni Bhaujayi ho..
Paise na ho tho ram duhayi ho...
Ghar Akela rahega sawalo se..
Na Darwaazo se na deewaro se..

Agar prem ke eento ka ujala ho..
har eent mein bhaichaara ho..
kandhho ka , zukaam ka ,sahara ho..
bin kidkiyo mein ujiyara ho..
Ghar na giree bhuchalo se..

Darwaazo se na deewaro se..
Ghar bantha hai gharwalo se..

SPIRITUAL INSPIRATION : GOD AND I BY JASPAL BHATTI

I believe in the existence of God and I am God-fearing.
The universe has originated due to some super power.
In the wide ocean we are like a small drop.

My faith in God has never been shaken.
And I am grateful to him for the fame and success that I have today.
I have never asked Him for anything, nor have I ever taken a mannat .
Religion is an individual and private matter.

If a few people sit down and discuss religion I feel that they will soon argue, but if they discuss humour they will laugh and enjoy themselves.
Humour and laughter bind people. Humour dissolves arguments and builds a rapport.
It dispels gloom. Laughter brings us closer to God.
It transcends limitations and takes us deeper into reality.

Love and laughter brings people closer to the Almighty I am thankful to Him
for the sense of humour he has blessed me with.
I believe that work is worship and for me humour is like a religion.

I think it's important to look at life and at society with humour,
because then we can cope with things in a better way.

I always look at the lighter side of the problem.
My childhood has been a religious one.

Till the age of 10, I lived with my grandparents, who instilled in me religious values.
As a kid I spent a lot of time in the Gurudwara with them and at home reading religious books.

My grandmother who is now 90 plus has largely influenced me.
I am not superstitious, but everyone suggested that I break a coconut for the mahurat of my serial Flop Show because it is considered auspicious - but I made a black cat run before the camera.
People consider black cats a bad omen. I don't think so. And the Flop Show was a hit!

One has to work if one wants to achieve something in life; one has to make the best of opportunities that come in life rather than sit and wait for things to happen.

I believe in the teachings of Bhagvad Gita - Do your duty, leave the rest to Him.
Whatever work one does, one must do it with delight and not as if it is a burden.

I never wear any precious stones nor have changed the spelling of my name yet! I pray to God to give me inner strength and faith to go on in life, so I don't have to look elsewhere for strength.

In life, ups and downs are natural.

But I never lose faith in myself. I am grateful to God for all that he has blessed me with.

I never complain to Him nor have been angry with Him.

I feel that religion has been commercialised today, religious practitioners feel threatened by other religions.

The so-called religious heads should give up their fanaticism.

Religion is a personal matter.

People should learn to respect all religions and ultimately aim to be good human beings.

Prem ( in Hindi )

This is a poem penned by our music teacher during our school days . I hope you like it...

Dil jalane se kya hoga..
Gham sunane se kya hoga..
Jab talaq zindagi hai..
Pyar ke nagme sunaye ja..

Bhaant Pao tho suk bhaanto..
sirf aanso bahana kya..
sabi ke aapne aapne gham..
kisiko gham sunana kya..

Bhikero kushiya hi kushiya..
Tabh tumhari hogi duniya..
aanke ye ponchkar ..
muskaan ke moti lootaye ja..

ki nahi tanha nahi ho tum..
akele chaalkar tho dekho..
kabhi kudh se karo batein..
kabhi kudh se milkar dekho..
yoo akelepan ka matham..
yoo hee jeekar tho dekho tum..
na ho sathi koyi tho..
Dosti kudh se nibaye ja..

Tho yeh sahi yeh galat hoga..
yoo agar ho tho yoo hoga..
raah mein aaisa bhi hoga..
chah mein waaisa bhi hoga..
tho inn fasano se kya hoga..
inn bahano se kya hoga..
khuda tak agar pahoonchna hai..
kisi se lho lagaye ja.. (lho means prem)

Ki dosto zindagi milthi nahi hai zindagi bhar ko.. ( koi amar hoke tho nahi aaya hai is duniya mein ... )
tho rootna kya zamaane se, kosna kya muqadar ko..
aaj andhyara hai tho kya,kal ujala bhi aayega..
agar naraaz hai sooraj, koi shamma jalaye ja..

Dil Jalane se kya hoga..
Gham sunane se kya hoga ....

Riddle - Patented by Haq

I was thinking in the lines of "Kalyani Black Label"

See my lateral thinking! :)

... response by vijai atavane ... BITBUGGERS Group

Answer

Aree kisi ne bhi uttar nahi diya...what a shame ??

Split the name KALYANI : KAL + AANI

In Tamil KAL means STONE , AANI means NAIL

The Senior manager was a Tamilian , he was not able to guess how a stone be inside a nail .

Thats why he started laughing...So the next time u happen to meet a person by the same name...

u will do 2 things

- burst out laughing
- or remember HAQ

I advice u to do the latter...

Cheers

Roohul Haq---

Riddle : There was a recruitment going on in a publishing company.

The interview panel consisted of a HR Personnel , Senior manager,> and a technical guy..

The post was for a Steno..> > Among the first candidates was a Girl.

She approaches the room , and peeping thru , says Good Morning to the panelist.

Senior Manager asks ," Whats ur name ??

She replies shyly and with a low voice ," KALYANI ...

Senior manager is not able to get it the first time, so he asks again..

PARDON ME , I DIDN'T GET YOU .WHATS UR NAME ??

She replies back vociferously ," KALYANI..

There is silence thereafter ... After a few moment , the Senior Manager bursts out laughing

Let me know the reason for his LAUGHTER ???

Put on ur thinking caps Gentlemen ... U WILL HAVE NO BREATHING SPACE

Lateral thinking is required...

Hamne bhi kache goliya nahi kayi hain..

Regards,
Haq
